about the gibbs 5

Hey, y'all. My name is Anne and I'm the driving force behind the Gibbs 5. By driving, I mean driving the kids to school and day care. I'm a thirty-something married lady with a hipster-in-denial husband, Chris. Together, we have three kids: JP, an 8-year-old Lego wizard, and Julie and Maddie, almost-3-year-old twins. I started this blog in February 2009 when Julie and Maddie made a surprise appearance at 24 weeks gestation after I developed HELPP syndrome. To be dramatic, it was a deliver or die situation. Luckily, we all lived. The girls spent 4.5 months in the NICU at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, KY where they suffered through and survived almost every possible thing that can happen to micro-preemies. For the first year or so, this blog was all about the girls' health and well-being with a little humor tossed in for sanity's sake. Now, the blog is more of a pictorial diary of our everyday life. Life with three kids and two working parents is...well, it is what it is. Love my family. Love my readers. Thanks for dropping by. Maybe we can get together over coffee sometime?
